It was a warm and sunny day when I got up from bed. The calendar showed the date seventh of June two thousand and thirty five. I headed to the window slowly but surely. I opened the curtains revealing the bright sunlight penetrating my glass window. Two school girls walked passed my house and waved their hands at me. I waved back with a cordial smile to the cute little girls passing by. The two girls who passed my house were my English students. I have an English course teaching students to learn good and academic English. I usually go to their houses and teach them as thoroughly as possible. After greeting my students, I went to my lazy chair and sat down to enjoy the comfort offered by the cushion. I started to think back twenty five years ago before I had the life I have now.
In June two thousand and ten, I joined the SAT English course at direct English in order to improve my SAT skills. After scoring a score of 2215, I entered the University of Washington and majored in architecture. In the year 2016, I graduated from University with a master’s degree. A few job offers rolled in and I accepted an offer of four hundred thousand dollars a year. After a while, my creations were known worldwide and I ended up with enough money I could never imagine. I decided to go Japan, the country I’ve always wanted to live in. After arriving in Tokyo, I rented out a small room in an apartment. I made a rather amicable group with the people in the area. I still kept my job as an architect but I opened a small English course for the students at a local high school near my apartment. My first student was a girl named Hirasawa Yui who was a very energetic girl, she was in the third year of senior high school back then. She is a very kind girl who helped me a lot. Every day I would go to her house and teach her friends academic English. On my way home, I often go to a small ramen shop which was in the immediacy of Yui’s house. On my free day, i usually go to Akihabara to check out the new gadgets and anime films. I took my baths in a public hot spring where many workers usually go. There was a mini market five feet from my apartment so that was the place I got my Pringles and chocolate bars.
Once In spring, Yui and her friends invited me to go to mount Fuji. It was one of the places I always wanted to visit so I agreed with great alacrity. Mount Fuji was extremely beautiful. The sakura leaves were blooming and the cool mellifluous wind was rushing through my body. The snow on top of the mountain completed the great scenery of the place. I also visited the town ruins in Hiroshima where the terrible atom bomb tragedy happened. The pressure of the people by that time could be felt around the ruins. There was a monument with the writing, “beside the big bones, scattered little bones.” The monument was in front of the ruins of an old school building. I could tell the big bones meant the bones of the teachers who were victims and the little bones were the children. A place I also visited was the Osaka castle. I went there with Yui when she graduated from high school. I was rather impressed with the architecture design of the castle. It really showed a sign of art and complexity. Its complex design must have been a form of a shield to prevent the invaders locating the emperor. I usually go to the beach in summer time with Yui and her friends. The sand on the beach was really soft and hot due to the sun rays. The water was both clear and cool. Yui and I would either play volleyball or swim in the ocean. If it’s sports were talking about, I usually play American football or some tennis with the students from the University of Tokyo. Yui also once took me to a local festival where I enjoyed many kinds of Japanese street food. They usually end the festival with a show of fireworks. The Show was one amazing sight, fireworks sparkling together with the stars in the dark blue sky.
The life I had in Japan until now was full of excitement and discovery. It was one of the greatest experiences for me through out my life. I had a lot of fun with all my new friends. Some problems made their way through but I got rid of them with the help of my friends. Right now I already have my own house which I designed. Yui and I got married and we have two wonderful children.
Well, that’s enough about me. How about you? Do you have a story to share?
